At a time when the English underground rock scene was dominated by angular post-punk and sunny twee pop, this Devon-based outfit emerged with CARDBOARD COLOURED DREAMS, a 2006 EP that blended the soul-inflected New Wave of Dexy’s Midnight Runners with the hardnosed but pop savvy simplicity of classic pub rock. Their debut full-length, GIRLS AND WEATHER, featured fuller production and a more confident reprisal of their already distinctive sound.
