In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a kid, listening to the radio one Sunday afternoon, and hearing Lou Reed's Walk on the Wildside for the first time. That bassline, that vocal, that sax - another planet compared to the diet of Michael Jackson and Madonna. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Lou Reed, Transformer Sigur Rós, Ágætis Byrjun The Go-Betweens, 16 Lovers Lane These are all very different records but all manage to push the creative envelope of songwriting, musicality and musicianship but without ever compromising accessibility - to my mind this is pop music in the truest sense of the word. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “I'm Not Enough” This is a love song but without being corny - a song of humility really - but musically and sonically evocative of some of the great piano ballads of say Lou Reed or David Bowie helped by the big outro and gospel backing singers that bring this home. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Releasing our first album Travalog in 2021 to rave reviews (Uncut magazine & Folk Radio) and airplay on BBC6 and beyond, and more recently working with producer Marcus Paquin (Arcade Fire, The National) on our forthcoming album The Age of Self Help. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Headlining Glastonbury or a collaboration with Sufjan Stevens, but until then it's got to be getting on one of Apple Music's coveted playlists like Indie Anthems or Antidote...did we say we consider ourselves purveyors of credible indie-pop music??
