About Redfoo

Rapper, singer, dancer, songwriter, DJ and producer Redfoo rose to international stardom in the late ’00s and early ’00s as one-half of the outlandish, party-starting hip-hop and dance duo LMFAO. • Redfoo is the son of Barry Gordy Jr., the legendary founder of Motown Records. He became interested in making music while watching his older brother Rockwell record an album. • He started producing music at a young age and earned his first major credit by producing L.A. rapper Ahmad’s 1994 hit “Back in the Day”. • In 1997, he teamed up with rapper Dre Koon for the joint album Balance Beam. The following year, he collaborated with Black Eyed Peas on their 1998 song “Duet”. • Keen on blending hip-hop and dance music, he formed the group LMFAO with his nephew Sky Blu in 2006. Redfoo’s junior high buddy will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas helped the duo land a deal with Interscope Records by introducing them to label honcho Jimmy Iovine. • LMFAO’s 2009 debut album, Party Rock, included the club-ready singles “I’m In Miami Bitch” and Shots”, featuring Lil Jon. • After appearing on 2010’s “Gettin’ Over You”, an international hit for David Guetta and Chris Willis, LMFAO released their sophomore album, 2011’s Sorry for Party Rocking. The album spawned two No. 1 US hits: “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It”. • In February 2012, LMFAO made a special appearance during Madonna’s halftime show at Super Bowl XLVI. In September of that year, the duo announced an indefinite hiatus. • Redfoo released his first solo single, “Bring Out the Bottles” in December 2012. He followed that with “Let’s Get Ridiculous” while working as a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor in 2013. • In 2016, Redfoo released his debut solo album, Party Rock Mansion.
