Kristian Kristensen

About Kristian Kristensen

An Oslo-based singer/songwriter whose soaring falsetto has drawn comparisons to the likes of Bon Iver, Jeff Buckley, James Blake, and Antony and the Johnsons, Kristian Kristensen first came to public prominence in 2013 as a contestant on the Norwegian version of the popular reality series/singing competition The Voice. His soulful blend of folk and ambient pop landed him a deal with Universal, with whom he released the 2013 single "Sjansen (i et hjørne gjemt i natta)." Subsequent singles "Lyset," "Kan Du Lære Mæ?," "Du Som Snakke," and "Varm" helped to further solidify his reputation as one of the region's most promising young singer/songwriters, and eventually helped land him a deal with Warner Bros., which issued his debut EP, Før Det Blir For Seint (Before It's Too Late), in 2016. ~ James Christopher Monger
