In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My father took me to the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville when I was around 11 years old, to see a songwriter named Gary Burr (whose background singer that night was this new artist named Faith Hill). I was hooked on songwriting and Nashville from then on! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Marley & The Wailers, Legend – The Best of Bob Marley & The Wailers (2002 Edition) Eagles, Eagles Live John Mayer, Room for Squares The Eagles are my all-time favorite band with their instrumentation, songwriting and harmonies. Bob Marley was a true poet and reggae pioneer, and Room For Squares was a very seminal album for me, as I was learning to play guitar and write songs. Tell us why you chose this song. “Gettin' Down in a Pirate Town” Gettin’ Down In A Pirate Town for me is a true encapsulation of what The Pirate Sessions projects are all about. And it is also the song that I close every live set with!! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Co-writing the Florida Georgia Line song “Cruise”, and having that become my first #1 and multi-platinum selling song as a songwriter. And for that song then to go on to become a RIAA Diamond certified song with over 11 million sales to date. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I think any artist will tell you there is always something left on the bucket list to chase, or the next song that might be just around the corner! But for me- doing a show with Buffett or Chesney would be a major highlight.
