About GB3

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I saw Split Enz during their Mental Notes era in the Summer of 1975/1976. I was 12 years old on school holidays in Rosebud. I went out the next week and bought their album. It changed my life forever. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Essendon Airport, Palimpsest The Go-Betweens, Liberty Belle and the Black Diamond Express (Remastered) The Reels, Quasimodo's Dream These albums were very influential when I first started going to pubs and clubs in the early 80's. I would catch The Reels, Essendon Airport and The Go-Betweens whenever they played in Melbourne and their records were on my turntable non stop. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Famished (feat. Steve Kilbey)” Famished is really special to me as it is one of the the first collaborations I did outside of my band Underground Lovers. To work with Steve Kilbey from The Church was a thrill and the result was magic. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Working with Grant McLennan from The Go-Betweens on a GB3 song in 2005 called Actress on a Mattress. Grant wrote and sang the lyrics and played some of his recognisable lead guitar. He was fantastic to work with and was so giving. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to collaborate with other artists in the future - Jude McGee from Pel Mel to sing, Brian Eno to produce and Stephen Morris from New Order to do a remix.
