Citizens' Utilities

About Citizens' Utilities

While a product of the fertile Seattle music scene, Citizens' Utilities favored a much rootsier sound than their grunge contemporaries; a quartet comprised of guitarists Joshua Medaris and Chad Shaver, bassist Bill Herzog and drummer Eric Akre (all four members contributed vocals), the group debuted in 1996 with Lost and Foundered, issued on the Mute label. Producer Steve Berlin helmed the follow-up, No More Medicine, released a year later. ~ Jason Ankeny
