Ceremonial Oath

About Ceremonial Oath

Originally known as Desecrator when they began rehearsing in 1989, Swedish melodic death metal band Ceremonial Oath was a collaboration between singer vocalist Oscar Dronjak, guitarist Anders Iwers, bassist Jesper Stromblad and drummer Markus Nordsberg. 1992's "The Lost Name of God" demo paved the way for their first full-length album The Book of Truth, which emerged the following year, but the group soon splintered and Iwers was left to start over again with a new line-up for 1995's The Carpet, before giving up and moving onto become the bassist with gothic/industrial metal pioneers Tiamat in the late ‘90's. His former associates were also rewarded for their time spent in Ceremonial Oath's rigorous boot camp, as Stromblad would go onto mastermind Gothenburg metal gods In Flames and Dronjak founded Tolkien metal masters Hammerfall. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
