About Brave Giant
Irish indie folk band Brave Giant meld traditional Irish instrumentation with epic indie rock song structures.
Mark Prunty (guitar, vocals) and Podge Gill (guitar, vocals) originally began as a two -piece called Dutch Courage in 2011. Two years on, they asked banjo and mandolin player Ross McNerny to join the band and changed their name to Poroma in the process. The following year saw two further additions in Emmet Collum (drums) and David Kilbride (bass), prompting yet another name change, this time to Brave Giant. After assembling the full lineup, they recorded their debut EP, 2016's Lordy Lordy. Kilbride appeared to leave the group, with no mention of his status in the band, but Brave Giant went on to release their debut album, White, Pink + Blue, in 2019.
