About Adriann Lewis-Freeman

Known throughout the 2000s as a focal member of the Stellar Award-winning group RiZen, powerhouse singer Adriann Lewis-Freeman has been releasing solo material since 2017. Her recordings as a headliner, including the celebratory single "You Been So Good" (2020), have continued to mix traditional and contemporary gospel with a high level of energy. Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Lewis-Freeman is the daughter of Pastor Luciose Lewis, Jr. She started singing in church at a very young age, and in 2003 debuted as a member of RiZen, a vocal group that also featured her sister Aundrea. They released RiZen (2003), RiZen 2 (2005), and Free (2009), along with a remix collection. RiZen won Stellar Awards for New Artist and Traditional Group/Duo, and Lewis-Freeman was singled out as a nominee for Traditional Female Vocalist. Once RiZen began an extended break, Lewis-Freeman earned a master's degree and became an English teacher. While still involved with education, she signed with the Tyscot-associated DAF Entertainment, and made her solo debut in 2017 with "Prayer Changes Things." Her second and third singles, "Joybells" and "You Been So Good," followed in 2018 and 2020, respectively. ~ Andy Kellman
