Editors' Notes Hushed rock experimentalists daring to turn it up to 11 second time around? You’d better believe it. Thom Green, Gus Unger-Hamilton and Joe Newman shrug off the departure of bassist Gwil Sainsbury with a maximal approach that covers everything from catchy gunslinger blues (“Left Hand Free”) to slow-build electro floor-fillers (the Miley Cyrus-sampling “Hunger Of The Pine”). There’s still room for the unconventional though and “Every Other Freckle”—with its talk of licked chip bags and pawing cats—is a gleefully strange slice of come hither lust.
