One of 21st century indie's true auteurs, Phil Elverum has already left behind a considerable footprint both as a songwriter and a record producer. His work in The Microphones in the late '90s and early '00s formed his noise-pop-meets-lo-fi folk aesthetic, with 2001's acclaimed double-LP The Glow Pt. 2 capping off his collagist vision. Fittingly, he retired the moniker to start Mount Eerie—as well as his own label—in 2004, continuing his prolific ruminations on existence with seven albums and a litany of EPs over the next decade.
