“This is for the times when we forget how to relax,” Penny Tai tells Apple Music. “Music is like a master key that can open up countless possibilities.” Working on her album 被动的观众 (“The Passive Audience”) during the pandemic, the freedom that music provides the imagination helped the Malaysian singer-songwriter through prolonged bouts with insomnia and isolation that she explores on the songs (“三四点了还没睡”) (“Still Awake”) and (“多亏你啊”) (“Thanks To You”). He has a very rebellious personality. Listening to his work, you can appreciate his complex experiences and admire the resoluteness that his voice carries. It’s been one of my favourite songs since I started skateboarding over the past two years. It’s definitely a song that gets my emotions flowing.
