Parokya ni Edgar Essentials

Parokya ni Edgar have been gently poking fun at pop since their school days. Scaling the heights of popularity in the late ‘90s, the band saw its debut album go triple-Platinum, helped by the Filipino rock explosion in the wake of grunge. Parokya ni Edgar make music which sets itself apart by lampooning all comers—rock, ska, pop punk and power ballads alike. Their swinging “Mr. Suave” even became an unironic hit, becoming such a phenomenon that it was borrowed for TV adverts and political campaigning, but their appetite for satire shows no signs of waning.
