The oldest of Hillsong Church's musical projects, Hillsong Worship are the band most rooted in the concept of live congregational music. Since the '80s, when they were named Hillsong Live, the Australian ensemble have specialised in piano-driven pieces like “Cornerstone” and “Mighty to Save” that couch the universal power and love of God in deeply personal lyrics beckoning audience participation. Hillsong Worship are no strangers to incorporating cutting-edge pop-rock instrumentation, yet even a massive hit such as 2017's ethereal “What a Beautiful Name”, co-written by Brooke Ligertwood, places the emphasis squarely on their rising harmonies.
