It was only a matter of time before Girls' Generation charmed neighbouring Japan after taking their native country by storm with "Gee". The girls lived up to high expectations with their hyped Japanese debut in 2011. Much like their Korean releases, Girls' Generation's Japanese offerings are fun, highly danceable and ridiculously catchy. Earlier tracks such as "Mr. Taxi", "Genie" and "Run Devil Run" straddle the line between bubble-gum pop and dance floor anthems, while on the girls' later releases, the group began to flirt with electro pop elements.
