A phenomenon from the start, Chrisye's career harkens back to the mid-‘70s, when he took part in the performance and production of music that is today considered some of the finest Indonesian records, including the soundtrack to the classic drama Badai Pasti Berlalu, a soundtrack which topped Rolling Stone Indonesia's all time best 150 Indonesian albums. He continued to release hit after hit, as well as close to 20 solo albums, each showcasing his characteristically demure tenor and ear for hooks—before his untimely death in 2007.
