Zuill Bailey

About Zuill Bailey

Cellist Zuill Bailey is among the foremost U.S. cellists, making numerous concerto, recital, and chamber music appearances around the Western hemisphere. Bailey's New York recital debut at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with pianist Simone Dinnerstein was sold out, and his self-titled 2003 recording debut also featured Dinnerstein. Bailey has gone on to make appearances at top national venues and has a particularly strong record of concerto appearances. He released a recording of Schumann's Cello Concerto and Brahms' Double Concerto, joined by violinist Philippe Quint in 2019. In 2022, he returned for a recording of Ellen Taaffe Zwilich's Cello Concerto with the Santa Rosa Symphony Orchestra. Bailey is a professor of cello at the University of Texas at El Paso.
