About Ruelle

Ruelle is the stage name of American electro-pop singer-songwriter Maggie Eckford, whose songs have been featured in numerous TV series. ∙ Inspired by her love of Broadway musicals, Ruelle taught herself to play songs from Cats and The Phantom of the Opera on piano while still in elementary school. ∙ Following two indie-pop albums released under her own name, she began performing as Ruelle and expanded her sound into more cinematic realms, beginning with 2015’s EP Up in Flames. ∙ Her big break came when the title track of Up in Flames was used in a 2015 episode of TV’s The Originals, which led to numerous Ruelle songs being picked up for television placements. ∙ In 2016, her song “Until We Go Down” was chosen as the opening theme for the fantasy TV series The Shannara Chronicles. ∙ The supernatural TV series Shadowhunters used Ruelle’s “This Is the Hunt” as its opening theme and featured several other of her songs during its run from 2016 to 2019. ∙ Her 2017 EP, Rival, reached No. 21 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart.
