About Innuendo

An R&B band from Malaysia, Innuendo were formed in 1992 by Reymee bin Mohamed Hussein, Shamshul Azhar bin Nazeer, Ahmad Tajuddin bin Mohamed Tahir, and Saiful Amir bin Abdul Wahab. The group, which specialized in the rare art of a cappella vocal music, helped further the cause of such bands (read: boy bands) in their native country. Their first album, Innuendo (which was followed shortly thereafter by the obligatory re-release -- that is to say the repackaging with new tracks and artwork -- of said debut) was followed by the departure of Shamshul in 2002. Undaunted by the roster shakeup, Innuendo soldiered on as a trio, releasing the album BrandNuendo in August of that year. The group won an award at that year's Anugerah Industri Musik Awards, in addition to performing there. They rounded out their big year with further regional touring. ~ Chris True
