About Bobby Kim

A singer and songwriter (he's penned tracks for other Korean artists, such as Drunken Tiger and Tasha) Bobby Kim (born Kim Do Kyun, 1973) got his start as part of the K-Reggae group Dr. Reggae in 1993. His songwriting skills got him involved with other artists, and in 1999 he joined up with GanD and Juvie to form Buga Kingz. That group's debut album was delayed by mandatory military service, and in 2001 Bugalicious finally hit stores. A follow up, the Renaissance, followed a few years later. Kim went solo in 1998, but it was to be his second album, Beats Within My Soul, in 2004 that was to be the hit to establish Kim as a star. ~ Chris True
