About Arpit Bala
One of the most popular creators for India’s Gen Z, Arpit Bala has an artistic side as a singer-songwriter and hip-hop artist who resonates with the country’s youth. He began appearing on songs with fellow New Delhi-based artists such as SangeetKir, Chaar Diwaari (“Kya”) and Karun, ReVo Lekhak and Lambo Drive on the 2021 hit “Maharani”. Along with childhood friend and artist Bhappa, Bala formed Foosie Gang as a light-hearted outlet for their sense of humour and reflections on life and growing up. Bala deftly balanced his irreverent streamer cred with musical acumen, releasing EPs such as Anveshna, which is rich in storytelling, as he linked up with rap frontrunners including Dhanji (“WHAT WOULD THE CREDIT DEPARTMENT DO?”) and wolf.cryman (“Ik Kudi”) to showcase his range (and contacts). His 2025 appearance on the buoyant but melancholic “bargad” with sufr and toorjo dey further established his singing chops outside the hip-hop space. By 2025, Bala had released more pop-leaning songs such as “Pyari Amaanat” with A.O.D. and Angad Virk, building to his debut album Keychain Laalu. With stories of heartbreak and philosophical takes on life on songs such as “Rakhlo Tum Chupaake”, “Kaise Manaye” and “Chuppi”, Bala straddles the pop and hip-hop worlds, and even incorporates electronic and rock elements across its nine tracks.
