About 6ixth Sense

The typical three-act story for bands in Malaysia often starts with a stint playing feel-good covers at wedding ceremonies. This is how it all began for 6ixth Sense back in 2003, who went from top table to major label in just two years. The Kuala Lumpur-born troupe are a rarity in Malaysian rock circles, comprised of Indonesian lead vocalist, Adi Priyo Sambodo, and are fondly known across the border as Tirta. Signed to Universal Music in 2005, the band’s commanding prog-pop musicianship and Priyo Sambodo’s suave, elastic vocal stylings have produced a string of radio-primed hits, including “Khatimah Cinta” and “Menyesal”. Chemistry and charisma fizz on the aforementioned standout tracks from Priyo Sambodo and guitarists Gjie and Athan (who replaced original member Air Bone), bassist Ayoy and drummer Wan. Priyo Sambodo’s heartfelt storytelling and vocal acrobatics have consistently elevated the band’s tunes to a refined plane. With millions of mobile downloads under their belt, 6ixth Sense were named Mobile Artist of the Year at the Shout! Awards in 2010 and again at the Malaysian Grammys, Anugerah Industri Muzik, the following year. In 2014, 6ixth Sense also surprised fans with a collection of deeply religious meditations without sacrificing their distinctive brand of contemporary pop-rock.
