About 1991

London's Frederick Webb (aka 1991) produces sleek, futuristic drum'n'bass tracks, often adding yearning vocals to his mixture of bright melodies and driving rhythms. He's earned much support within the drum'n'bass and EDM scenes, with releases on Chase & Status' MTA Records and Skrillex's Nest imprint, among other labels. He's also remixed songs by Chris Lake and Axwell, and co-produced tracks with Netsky and Sub Focus. Webb released a few tracks and remixes under the name Koncept during the early 2010s, but by 2016, he had changed his moniker to 1991. He regularly played gigs with Chase & Status, and he released the Dim Sum EP and two additional singles through their label, MTA Records. In 2017, the single "Heartstrings" was released by Skrillex's Nest imprint. Webb additionally released the EP Lunar and remixed tracks by Chris Lake and Camo & Krooked (on RAM Records' 25th anniversary compilation). Continuing to incorporate more vocals into his tracks, 2018 single "The Epiphany" featured singer/songwriter Matt Wilson. Several additional singles appeared throughout 2019 and 2020, including "Midnight," "Full Send," and "The People." ~ Paul Simpson
