About Naevus

A unique blending together of varying styles (some which rarely cross paths) -- industrial, folk, pop, to name a few -- Naevus formed in London, England in 1998. Founders Lloyd James (vocals, acoustic guitar) and Joanne Owen (bass, accordion) released their debut, Truffles of Love on the Wooden Lung label in 1999. Albums Soil and Behaviour followed in 2001 and 2002, respectively. In 2004, the band released the critically lauded and eclectic Perfection Is A Process on Operative. For the follow up, the band expanded to a four piece, bumping up previous collaborators John Murphy on drums and Greg Ferrari on electric guitar to a more permanent presence. The resulting work, Silent Life (on Hau Ruck!) was a critical success, and featured guest appearances from members of the Urge Within, Sieben, and Current 93. ~ Chris True
