About Mord Fustang

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories that I can recall is of me as a 12-year old, using an Akai tape deck to record songs I liked off FM radio, then adding my own interstitial commentary, I even remember doing made up interviews with other kids. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Carpenter, Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998 Mike Oldfield, Hergest Ridge (Deluxe Version) Mord Fustang, The Symbolism of Everything Depending on the day, Hergest Ridge is my favorite Mike Oldfield album, it has that two-part format, and is very uplifting. John Carpenter's movie themes speak for themselves really—these re-recordings always make me want to watch his movies again. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Silhouette” This purposefully contemporary-but-aged track has the melodies and glitchy hallmarks of my sound through the years, which is why I consider it an essential listen for every Mord Fustang as well as retrowave listener. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments in my career so far is headlining a festival in Pärnu, Estonia, after I had blown up as an artist abroad, and returned succeeding a North America tour. It felt amazing to play, knowing my parents are in the crowd. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My dream is to fully score a narrative video game, as video games are my other passion besides music, and I think it would be an enjoyable challenge for me to come up with all the different moods and tones in terms of the sound design itself.
