Formed in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1993 by singing accordionist Beto Zapata and bajo sexto player Pepe Elizondo, Pesado more often explore the romantic side of norteño, with love songs aplenty—including a pair of albums dedicated to wives and to mothers. They also prove themselves staunch, vibrant traditionalists in a jubilant live remake of Los Cadetes de Linares' "Cielo Azul, Cielo Nublado".
