Cantopop’s cross-genre darling Sophy Wong began her journey as a contestant on The Voice (Hong Kong) in 2009, then released her debut EP Sophrology in 2016. After winning a string of best new artist awards, her second EP, Quarter, was another Cantonese hit. In 2020, she earned critical acclaim with her first Mandarin EP, Harsh. Honing her sonorous voice, Sophy often plays with elements of electronic music and alternative R&B, leading to 2021’s lo-fi cut “Open the Windows” and the dreamy “Hence, Me”.
