About Sundy Best

A country-folk duo hailing from eastern Kentucky, Sundy Best features Nick Jamerson and Kris Bentley, friends since elementary school. Jamerson and Bentley blend country, Appalachian folk, bluegrass, rock, soul, and R&B into a stomping back-porch sound based around Jamerson's acoustic guitar, Bentley's cajón (a sort of portable drum), and the pair's impassioned vocal blend. Sundy Best independently released a debut album called Door Without a Screen in 2012, then grew their fan base through savvy use of social media and striking live shows. After one of the songs from the album, "Home," ended up in heavy rotation at CMT, Sundy Best were signed to a multi-album deal with Entertainment One, and they re-released Door Without a Screen with six additional songs at the end of the summer in 2013. The duo's second full-length release, Bring Up the Sun, which appeared early in 2014, featured re-recorded versions of some of the songs on the first album (including the signature "Home" as "I Wanna Go Home") and newer material, all of it written by the duo in-house. Bring Up the Sun rose to number 11 on the Country Albums chart and 14 on the Indie Albums listing. December 2014 brought another Sundy Best album, Salvation City, which debuted on the Country Albums chart at an impressive number 22. In 2016, Sundy Best gave their fans a souvenir of their celebrated live show with the concert album It's So Good Live. ~ Steve Leggett
