Novelty songs and comic relief go hand in hand, but for the beloved comedian Achey, making the leap to music was a more wistful affair. He wrote 2017's wintry, minor-key love song “Yang Terindah”, drawing inspiration from his wife for the track. Produced by 17ElevenMusic, the earnest ballad became an instant success, garnering over 30 million hits online. A second single, “Anak”, also followed a personal-leaning theme, with Achey crafting a touching ode to his daughter, Nur Tiara Zinnirah. “Sakit” came next in 2019. Co-written with close friend Shuk Aziz, the hit ballad about heartbreak reaffirmed Achey’s fans’ acceptance of his vastly different personas; that wild and wacky comedian who won the first-ever season of Malaysia’s comedy sketch and singing competition Bintang Mencari Bintang on TV3 in 2013 (forming one third of comedy troupe, Bocey, along with Abam and Fad), and the introspective, sensitive singer and songwriter. In February 2020, “Yang Terindah” took on a new profound and poignant meaning for Bocey fans following the sudden passing of Abam.
