When United Pursuit appeared on the contemporary praise-and-worship scene in the late 2000s, there was nothing quite like them. While their peers revelled in epic declarations of gratitude, this tightly knit collective of young Christians set up camp in a timeworn house in Knoxville, Tennessee, and embraced the folksy and unadorned in their worship of the Lord. Over the years, the group has released a string of albums—including 2015’s Simple Gospel, 2018’s Garden and 2023’s What Could We Become?—that further refine its warm, humble vision. Choruses aren’t shouted; they’re exhaled. Songs don’t plead; they contemplate. United Pursuit feature three stand-out singer-songwriters in Will Reagan, Andrea Marie and Brock Human, but regardless of who takes the lead, it’s always the group’s communal faith that remains the music’s guiding light.
