Hard rockers Thunder tap their blues (and blue-collar) roots. A few rhythm sections have come and gone since the band's initial run—spanning the '90s while doggedly avoiding grunge—but Thunder's no-nonsense heft comes down to frontman Danny Bowes and guitarist/songwriter Luke Morley (formerly paired in '80s stalwarts Terraplane). With that grizzled wail plus guitar licks to rival AC/DC, Thunder have amassed over two dozen live albums and—despite their heavy leanings—consistently nail the ballads too.
