When The Raveonettes fully let loose, the duo's pop side gives way to their blistering rock ambitions. "When the sun goes down, we have fun", they drone on the Jesus & Mary Chain–esque "Night Comes Out". It's an apt motto for their darker dalliances, like the blurry-edged dream-pop ballad "Sometimes They Drop By", which floats along a bleating siren effect, or "Summer Moon", an eerie lullaby lined with static and chiming guitar.
