Percy Faith Essentials

Classically trained Toronto pianist Percy Faith turned to conducting and arranging following a burn injury that affected both hands. During the '50s, his versatility and lush, string-heavy charts made him a star of easy listening and mood music. Faith brought unabashed sensuality to tracks like "Delicado" and "The Song from 'Moulin Rouge'" and later dabbled in bachelor-pad exotica with the bells and mallet instrumentation of tracks like "Return to Paradise". He had a knack for pop, too, as demonstrated by his groovy reimagining of Neil Diamond's "Crunchy Granola Suite".
