Os Paralamas do Sucesso Essentials

The 'Mudflaps of Success' sprung from Brazil's golden age of '80s rock. Shying away from typical English/American influences, Paralamas novelly blended Afro-Brazilian, reggae and ska elements into their trademark pop-rock and shot to super stardom with their sophomore effort, 1984's O Passo do Lui. Today, more than 30 years later, their biggest hit "Lanterna dos Afogados" still inspires arena-rock sing-along allegiance. Their studio albums have spawned countless Brazilian hits, marking them out as one of the original 'Big Four' of Brazilian rock.
