The name says it all: These Nashville indie rockers transport us to dreamy vistas. Founded in college by two friends from Alabama, Moon Taxi have gradually perfected a jam-friendly strain of indie rock that gifts the tangled tunefulness of Vampire Weekend and the rumpled classic rock of My Morning Jacket with a warm widescreen glow all its own. Singer/guitarist Trevor Terndrup excels at both sharply romantic lyrics and grand, festival-minded sing-alongs, while the entire band flesh out their songs with such ambitious layers as dazzling electronics and horizon-chasing guitar solos.
