Klaus Schulze helped develop the sound of Krautrock through his days as a member of psych rock group Ash Ra Tempel and space synth gurus Tangerine Dream. Since leaving that world, the German composer has embraced the possibilities of technology, particularly analogue and digital synthesizers. His incredibly prolific career spans the history of electronic music, as he has moved from his heavy prog pop through hypnotic new age to early electro and techno experiments that have influenced the worlds of IDM and hypnagogic pop.
