Cloud Nothings Essentials

Cloud Nothings Essentials

When Dylan Baldi started Cloud Nothings it was just a name for his lo-fi bedroom project of jangly, upbeat noise-pop. That iteration of the band found some success over two LPs, but it was the u-turn Baldi took on 2012's Attack On Memory that led to Cloud Nothings' breakthrough. Enlisting Steve Albini to bring out the edge in a much darker collection of songs, Baldi picked up a scream that surprised even his bandmates and reinvented Cloud Nothings as a post-hardcore band - one that retained all of his mastery of pop hooks, as showcased in 2014's Here and Nowhere Else.
