An early member of the new wave of male fado singers in Portugal, Camané mines the style's obscure corners for his repertoire. These include the sorrowful "Vendaval" (Gale) by the late fadista Tony De Matos and the despairing "Medalha da Senhora das Dores" (Medal of the Lady of Sorrows) by singer/songwriter Vitorino Salomé, rendered by Camané's deep, suave and slightly grainy voice.
