About Crispian Steele-Perkins
Crispian Steele-Perkins is one of the leading exponents of the early trumpet. His early studies were with Ernest Hall and Bernard Brown at the Guildhall School of Music. His orchestral career began with the Sadler's Wells Opera (later the English National Opera) and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He soon developed an interest in the earlier repertoire for the trumpet and has since performed with many leading period instrument ensembles, including the Academy of Ancient Music, the English Baroque Soloists, Tafelmusik, the Taverner Players, Collegium Musicum 90, and the King's Consort. Steele-Perkins performs also as a concerto soloist. He was featured in the inaugural concerts of the tercentenary celebrations of both Handel and Purcell, televised from Westminster Abbey in 1985 and 1995, respectively.
