Ben Kim

Pianist Ben Kim, hailed for Mozart and Chopin performances, is often active in Germany, where he was partly trained. He took first prize at Germany's ARD Music Competition in 2006. Kim entered the International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2005 and the Klavier-Festival Ruhr in Germany in 2008; some of his performances at those events were released on recordings. His solo debut came in 2012 with an album of Chopin works. With the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2020, he conducted and played as the soloist on an album of Mozart piano concertos. He returned on Challenge Classics in 2023 and 2024 with two more Mozart concerto releases, the latter devoted to the composer's first concertos in Vienna.
