Beate Bartel

With a career built on decades of pushing -- and sometimes breaking -- the boundaries of punk, electronic, and industrial music, Beate Bartel is one of Germany's most dynamic and enduring experimental artists. A founding member of the all-female German punk band Mania D, Bartel also performed with an early incarnation of Einstürzende Neubauten and the influential electronic post-punk trio Liaisons Dangereuses. Many of her projects included her former Mania D bandmate Gudrun Gut.
