About Anthony Warlow

Australian singer/actor Anthony Warlow was born November 18, 1961 in Wollongong, New South Wales, beginning his performing career at 19 with the Australian Opera. In his six years with the company, he starred in productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Magic Flute, La Boheme, Die Fledermaus, The Tales of Hoffman and Don Giovanni; in 1986, Warlow assumed the role of Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, and a year later he starred in his own one-man show, A Song to Sing. From there he spent four years appearing as Enjolras in Les Miserables, and in 1990 issued his first solo album, Centre Stage; upon completing a turn in the title role of The Phantom of the Opera, Warlow was diagnosed with lymphoma, ultimately beating the disease and returning in 1993 with a new album, Back in the Swing, and a concert tour. A stint as Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady preceded the 1995 release of Midnight Dreaming; he subsequently appeared in productions of The Secret Garden and Grease, releasing the album Back in the Swing in 2000. ~ Jason Ankeny
