About American Princes
Playing frantic old-school-power-pop influenced indie rock with just a tint of 1980s New Wave attitude, American Princes did a reverse hipster move in the mid-'00s, meeting in Brooklyn, but relocating to Little Rock, Arkansas, using the saved rent to fuel a fuller touring and recording schedule. Their well-adorned, edgy-melodic sound swiftly found a home at respected indie stalwart Yep Roc, and the five-piece band began to prolifically released critically well-received records. A tight, ferocious live show flecked with playful covers did nothing to dissuade a staunch indie scene following.
