In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I'll never forget winning a Battle of the Bands contest when someone tripped over the power cord and unplugged the PA during our song. Our drummer broke into a drum solo until they fixed the sound, we finished the song without missing a beat and won What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Ella Fitzgerald, The Complete Ella In Berlin: Mack the Knife (Live) Prince & The Revolution, Purple Rain (Deluxe Expanded Edition) 2015 Paisley Park Remaster I love music from many genres, but these 3 albums were pivotal. I lived and breathed Prince and will forever marvel at his genius. Ella's live recording showed me how a voice can be a celestial instrument, and Elis & Tom's duets planted Brazil in me. Tell us why you chose this song. “I'll Be Seeing You” I can still hear my grandma singing this song to my grandpa when I was little. At the end when grandma was unable to speak anymore, I'd sing this song in her ear, and she'd suddenly light up and get me to sing it over and over... What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I lived in Japan for several years and had friends like family there. Years later as a jazz artist I headlined at a festival in the same town, and had to fight back the tears as I looked out over the crowd onto the faces of so many people I knew. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Top three things on my bucket list as an artist: To record a live album in an epic location in Brazil, to sing on a Disney soundtrack, and to record an album of all original music.
