About Adam De Lucia

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I have a very early memory of when I recognized the value of music instead of simply being aware that it exists. The rhymes were not just placeholders, and songs can tell stories. Music has a wonderful potential to exchange all kinds of perspectives. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Cycle One (feat. Oz Noy, Cody McCorry, Hamilton Berry, Alex Fortes, Nick Revel, Ben Russell & Brian Lawlor)” I had a go at writing a song in every key, not as an intellectual exercise. It sounded best in fewer keys. The 12 bar blues changes supported the main idea. Secondly, I was interested in being free in chord choice and sequence within a 12 bar form. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Connecting with Michael Ghegan when he was a host at Jamian's open mic in Red Bank, NJ. We played some of my then new music to audiences of roughly 50 people. Worthwhile albums were made with indispensable support from good people like him. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The production so far has shown restraint because the playing has been the main attraction. I want to explore a more creative approach that goes beyond the playing and compositions.
