This special running mix from London producer/DJ Maya Jane Coles wastes no time getting the tempo up. Here, she talks about how she structured her set. “My intention was to create a mix that gets you instantly motivated to get moving and really get the blood circulating. Sometimes, even if you have a regular fitness routine, it can be so difficult to actually get in the mood, so having the right soundtrack can really help. I just went straight in with high energy. It’s supposed to be a tool to get you straight in the mood for an intense workout. The BPM stays around 136, and it’s pretty driving throughout, but there are some breakdowns and more chill moments here and there to give a bit of space for rest and recovery. I find having the right sounds to set the mood so vital, especially when doing cardio. When you can just get lost in the music, it can make the whole experience so much more enjoyable.” —Maya Jane Coles
