In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is putting on performances for my family with my cousins. From a young age, it was clear to me that music could move people, and I seemed to be born to be a performer. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Adrianne Lenker, songs Clairo, Sling Lucy Dacus, Home Video I think the writing styles from these three artists are super similar in that they are powerful in their simplicity and vulnerability. These albums have inspired me so much and you can definitely hear them in my new EP. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Long Drive (feat. Brandi Carlile)” It’s super special when a beautiful song comes out of a not-so-beautiful situation, like this one. I was stressed one day driving home from school. I was scared to grow up and I felt lonely and overwhelmed, so I pulled over and wrote Long Drive. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Definitely playing “Sober” live with Brandi Carlile at Mothership. I had never performed live with a band before, and getting to hear the outro with this full band felt like magic. I came off the stage sure that music was what I wanted to pursue. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There are so many things left on my bucket list as an artist; I’m just getting started! I want to develop a strong fan base and keep coming out with music. I also really want to sell out some cool venues and maybe win a couple Grammys, too.
