Pan-African rhythms and melodies characterise the EP’s inventive compositions while soulful, magnetic and heartfelt vocals—with contributions by Nyago, Nigel and Ms Fay—layer these soundbeds. As the shuffling percussion of “Okongola” makes way for the electronic strains of “Patali”, Chmba traverses amapiano, indie and future wave, before the loungey closer “Gusta” transports us to the tropics.
