Gyakie brought highlife sounds into the future with “SOMETHING”, while Rema created a kaleidoscope of futurist sounds on Rave & Roses, using tracks like “Calm Down” to tell relatable stories of life and love. Yet it was Black Sherif’s raw and energetic “Kwaku The Traveller”—both a personal oath and a public declaration of not being defined by past mistakes—that truly captured the ethos of the year: unshakeable self-confidence.
